Hi there and oh no it's been a while since my last blog post! I will be blogging on here more frequently from now on since I only have 8 days until I go to Japan! Yes! That's right, I am literally going to Japan NEXT WEEK!

Plus so much is happening this week, my 19th birthday is this Friday (11th March) and the Christchurch Armageddon Expo is this weekend - I will only be going on Saturday only. I will of course be Vlogging on both of these days.

It's from last week but if you haven't watched it yet, the video below is the last video I made on the UCXchange!

AGAIN THIS BLOG POST IS SO LATE! I AM LITERALY GOING TO JAPAN IN 5 DAYS!

THE UPDATES!

1. My Waseda Dorm

I have been placed in the Waseda International Student House (South Wing) - I am actually extremely happy I got placed into this dorm. It's a step up from the dorm I initally wanted and it's far better so I'm really glad. The south wing apprently has the biggest rooms and I've seen a few pictures online and it does look quite spacious which is good! The dorm is very close to campus and it's near Waseda Hoshien (the fancy expensive international dorm) and a cake shop which I will be sure to pay a visit when I arrive! The payment for my dorm rent is all through cash which I am also really glad about. I think it's going to be so much easier than doing bank transfers or whatever. I have to pay 2 months rent upfront including a linen fee, admission fee and basic utilities fee. So At least I don;t have to worry about that stuff for the first 2 months.

2. Student Visa

I went to the Japanese Consulate Office here in Christchurch, it's in the city center. It was surprisingly easy to fill in the student visa form and there was no fee charged!! I was expecting to pay a few hundred dollaars but nope! I didn't have to pay a single cent! I was wonderfully surprised by that! I applied for the Student Visa over a week ago now, I am actually going to pick it up today (my birthday is also today haha)

3. J-CAT Test

I completed the J-CAT test by using a login that Waseda provided for me. It was pretty much the same as how I did last time at Uni. According to Waseda's level I am a 2 which is around intermediete level which thankfully IS my level. So when I am at the course reguitration orientation at Waseda I can apply for the correct courses based on my level!

4. IT'S MY 19TH BIRTHDAY TODAY AND I AM GOING IN 5 DAYS!

So to wrap up this belated blog post, I have pretty much gotten everything sorted, it's 19th birthday today and I'll be posting pics to my instagram. I will make a blog post tonight about today, I'm going to Strawberryfare for dinner + desert, it's a fancy restaurant that I've been wanting to go to for a long time. I can't believe I am actually going in 5 days, it's seems so surreal and I am really surprising myself with how calm I am. I guess it just hasn't hit me yet and since today is my birthday and tomorrow is Armageddon, with those things going on it sort of takes my focus away from the exchange. But anyway I've gotta vlog today and tomorrow so I'll see you in the next blog post / vlog I make!
