A Test Of Patience - Waiting On Waseda's Acceptance Pack To Arrive

My friend Rachel from UC who is also going to Japan through the UCXchange program got her acceptance email from Kwansei Gakuin University with all the details she needs to purchase her travel insurance, visa and plane ticket etc. I was so happy and excited when Rachel messaged me because it means that my Waseda acceptance package should be arriving in the next few days.

I was told by the International Mobility department at UC that the Waseda acceptance pack usually arrives in their office at Uni around mid-late January (which is basically right now) so it should be any day now.

Honestly, I am nervous because I know it's basically 90% confirmed that I am going to be studying at Waseda University this year and living in Japan for all of 2016 but because that pack hasn't arrived yet, it still does mean that I am not officially acccepted. This is what keeps lingering around in my head.

I guess it's just the mixture of anticipation, excitement, fear and my obsessive need to plan and prep that is making me anxious. It's so close yet still so far.

As soon as I get the email from UC notifying me that the Waseda pack has arrived, I literally have to drop everything and go to Uni to pick it up because I will need to do several things including

1. Scan and make multiple copies of the official acceptance letter

2. Email the scanned copy of the acceptance letter that has the exchange dates on in along with the signed documents for my PMSA scholarshp to confirm acceptance and funding method.

3. Buy my one-way ticket to Japan from Air New Zealand (this is what will set everything in motion for me )

4.. Buy my Travel Insurance through Southern Cross. (members get 35% off) - I also have to make sure the insurance meets all of UC's minimum requirements.

5. Buy my Visa - for this I will need my mum with me because the NZ Embassy in Christchurch is a bit far from where I am plus my mum has been there before and I haven't so I will need the support/guidence.

5. Print and sign and hand in all required documents for the UC Mobilty Exchange Award -

SOOOoo yeah kind of a big deal. Lots and lots of things to be done as soon as that acceptance pack comes. Oh and also I forgot to write up there that the acceptance pack will include the form/details for my accomadation and I know that space is limited for the international dorms so I need to complete that first I think.

I am just the type of person who needs confirmation and certainty and right now the wait is really killing me. I am just being paranoid and overly anxious I know it's just that it's so damn soon and there is a lot to sort out in a short ammount of time but I have done everything I can at this stage because the rest really can't be done until that pack comes.

Okay it's late now (11:02pm NZST) I have a dentist appointment at 11am tomorrow so I need to sleep. Ahh I am tired, I had work today, the late night and it was slow. I really need to get to bed. Okay I am going to end this post here. I am trying to get into blog posting more often and keeping this updated.
